Role: Lead for Teaching & Learning 

School: Oaklea Grange School
Full Time: 40 Hours per week

Contract type: Permanent
Salary: £44,849.76 – £57,248.56 (DoE)

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience working in SEN or ALN settings, with a strong grasp of inclusive education principles
  • A proven record of driving improvement in teaching and pupil outcomes
  • Experience in delivering and supporting person-centred planning
  • Fluency in or a commitment to developing fluency in Welsh
  • Empathy, creativity, patience—and a commitment to celebrating every pupil’s potential

As a Lead for Teaching & Learning you will:

  • Design, implement and review teaching and learning strategies that meet a wide range of learning profiles and emotional needs
  • Support and develop teachers and learning support staff through mentoring, coaching, and CPD
  • Champion a trauma-informed, therapeutic approach to classroom practice
  • Work closely with the ALNCo and pastoral teams to ensure an integrated, wraparound approach to pupil progress
  • Promote the use of assistive technology and adaptive tools to empower learners
  • Lead initiatives to improve literacy, numeracy, and digital competence across the curriculum
  • Monitor classroom delivery and provide constructive, supportive feedback to colleagues
  • Encourage a bilingual and culturally responsive curriculum model (Welsh and English)
