Salary: £38,500 – £49,350 per annum dependent on experience & qualifications

Hours of Week: 40

Contract Type: Permanent

Requirements:

  • DipSW, CQSW, NVQ 3/4/5 in Working with Young People / adult Management or a willingness to work towards this.
  • Proven experience at Senior level in a Residential Home for adults/young people
  • Able to demonstrate advanced practice skills and experience in managing challenging behaviour.
  • Demonstrate good working knowledge of OFSTED fundamental working standards and regulations.
  • Working knowledge of the National Care Standards, Care Act and Regulations.
  • Good attention to detail and work to high standards.
  • Work using own initiative, taking full ownership.
  • Ability to develop and encourage professional growth in others.

As a Deputy Residential Manager you will:

  • Co-ordinate and monitor staffing levels within the home to ensure that individual need is met.
  • Assist the Registered Manager in ensuring that there is an appropriate Statement of Purpose for the home and that this document is updated on a regular basis.
  • Organise, deliver and co-ordinate induction, supervision, appraisal and support to individual staff.
  • Assist the Registered Manager in providing operational management of the staff team and to deploy staff resources in order that key objectives are fulfilled.
  • Ensure that the standards within the home are maintained and developed in line with the Care Standards Act 2000 and the Children’s Homes Regulations 2001.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment paying particular attention to Health and Safety legislation and environmental health needs.
  • To work proactively with monitoring bodies to ensure that services are developing beyond the set standards.
