Salary: £21,408.00– £25,561.54 per annum dependant on experience (Based on full time hours)
Hours of Week: Full time or Part time Considered
Contract Type: Permanent
Requirements:
- Level 2 or Level 3 Sports Coaching qualification.
- Relevant work experience in a similar background within a SEMH secondary setting.
- Experience in a sports coaching setting
- Strong behaviour management skills.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- The ability to maintain and develop a ‘culture of vigilance’ with regard to safeguarding and child protection.
As a Sports Coach you will:
- Deliver engaging and age-appropriate sports sessions to Secondary school pupils.
- Plan and organise sports activities, drills, and games to enhance pupils’ physical abilities and skills.
- Teach fundamental sports techniques, rules, and strategies to pupils.
- Collaborate with school staff to coordinate sports events and competitions.
- Motivating, engaging and encouraging the pupil(s) as required by providing levels of individual attention, reassurance and help with learning tasks as appropriate to pupils’ needs.
- Promoting the acceptance and inclusion of the pupil with SEN and encouraging pupils to interact with each other in an appropriate and acceptable manner.
- Provide opportunities to progress academically, social and emotionally.
- Develop self-confidence, positive self-image and independence.
- Knowing and applying school policies on Child Protection, Health and Safety, Behaviour, Teaching and Learning, Equal Opportunities etc.
- Complying with legal and organisational requirements for maintaining the health, safety and security of yourself and others in the learning environment.

Mortimer House School provides a full curriculum experience for up to 18 pupils with social, emotional or mental health difficulties, from the ages of 11 to 18. Our Approach to education is to inspire and engage our pupils through a wide range of positive learning experiences.
