Oaklea Grange School took a trip to ‘Parc in The Past’, a man-made Roman fort built using the original building techniques of the Romans.
Pupils learned about the Romans coming to Wales and conquering the Iron-Age tribes of the local area.
The group had the opportunity to sit in a roundhouse and round tent while building fires, and trying on accurate clothing, armour and headpieces. Cechlan, the Roman Centurion, was very informative with his knowledge and assisted the school with activities such as axe throwing, spear hunting and Roman road building.
It was both educational and fun!
