An Inspiring Story

This young girl joined Valley House, a Young Foundations specialist children’s home in Warwickshire, earlier this year at the age of nine. Before coming to us, she had spent over four months in hospital due to significant mental health challenges and was unable to eat safely, relying on a feeding tube.

Caring for her was a delicate task, but with the support of hospital staff and Warwickshire County Council, we created a warm, consistent team devoted to helping her feel safe and cared for. She is now supported by a full multidisciplinary team, including a clinical psychologist, all working together to meet her needs with kindness and understanding.

This particular journey has been inspiring. She is now eating by mouth, a huge milestone, and is beginning to feel valued, protected, and truly at home. Little joys like playing, creating, spending time in the garden and sharing everyday moments with the other young people at Valley House are helping her thrive and grow in confidence every day.

As she continues her journey with us at Valley House, each step she takes reflects her incredible courage and the gentle, unwavering support of the team around her. Her story is a beautiful reminder of the difference that locally based, specialist care, delivered with love by an experienced organisation like Young Foundations, can transform the lives of children with complex needs.
