In the past, we partnered with Glyndŵr University in Wrexham to offer our dedicated staff the opportunity to pursue a rewarding, paid career while obtaining a nationally recognized University degree in Therapeutic Childcare. We are now seeking to expand our offerings by partnering with an educational provider to help our staff earn degree-level qualifications at a fraction of the typical cost—all while continuing to work.

The Qualification Pathway

Every new employee at Young Foundations undergoes initial induction training and is supported in achieving a Level 4 Diploma as a Children, Young People, and Families Practitioner, if they have not already obtained this qualification. Upon attaining the Level 4 Diploma, we will encourage and fully support you as you work toward earning a Foundation Degree, with the option to continue to a BA (Hons) qualification, ultimately becoming an expert practitioner.

In addition to assisting with the cost of your degree, our team will recommend networking opportunities, relevant conferences, and additional online resources to enhance your studies.  You will study alongside your Young Foundations colleagues and other like-minded students from various workplace environments across the UK, providing opportunities to discuss innovative practices.

The Job: Balancing Work and Study

You’ll be working in one of our residential step-down services or schools, where you’ll help care for and educate children, young people, or young adults with complex needs, including autism, learning disabilities, and mental health issues. A relevant Level 4 diploma is required. Your line manager will collaborate with you to create a shift pattern that aligns with your study commitments.
