Salary: £53,000- £61,000 per annum (Dependent on experience)

Hours of Week: 40

Contract Type: Permanent

Requirements:

  • DipSW, CQSW, NVQ 5 in Working with Young People/Management or a preparedness to work toward same.
  • Significant experience at senior level in a Children’s Home. Able to demonstrate reasoning, numeracy, and literacy skills to required standard.
  • Able to work within the principles of the Children’s Act 2004. Demonstrate a sound working knowledge of Child Protection Issues and Procedures. Have a sound knowledge of Children’s Homes procedures and relevant issues
  • Good organisation and leadership skills and ability to motivate others
  • Working knowledge of the National Care Standards 2018, Children’s Homes Regulations 2018, Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018
  • Knowledge of relevant reports of enquiries: Howe, Utting.

As a Registered Manager you will:

  • Manage a Residential Home and ensure the efficient operation of the service in accordance with the relevant legislation, procedures, policies and the Statement of Purpose for the home.
  • Produce a development plan for the service that ensures the delivery of high quality, clinically informed practice.
  • Assist and supervise in the continual assessment of the needs of the children and young people and to identify and prepare specific development plans to ensure the most appropriate service provision.
  • Contribute to a comprehensive staff training and development programme to enable the service to have available all necessary skills and levels of expertise to meet the needs of the young people.
  • Undertake investigatory hearings or contribute to disciplinary process as per Young Foundations policy as requested by the Director of Operations. 
  • Ensure that professional ethics and behaviour are demonstrated by all staff at all times. They will actively co-ordinate the service provision and will be a focal point for support, advice and coaching to all staff within the Home.
  • Have responsibility for safeguarding and promoting individual rights, providing good quality care which is free from oppression and where differences are respected and valued.
